Mama Sam and the Jam debuts their first full-length album 'Songs About Boys"
Mama Sam & The Jam bring folk-pop shimmer, sky-high harmonies, soulful songwriting, and grooves that move from dreamy to danceable on their debut full-length album, Songs About Boys. Led by Mama Sam on vocals and guitar, the band blends heart-forward storytelling with lush, psychedelic warmth. At its core, Songs About Boys is a story about starting over, reclaiming desire, and learning how to love yourself again.
After a brain injury and divorce turned her life upside down, Mama Sam found herself asking a deceptively simple question: Could she love again? There were crushes, connections, disappointments, adventures, and heartbreaks—and eventually, a song about each one. But beneath the songs about those boys, is a bigger story: the journey back to herself.
Songs About Boys traces the messy, funny, sexy, heartbreaking process of putting yourself back out into the world and discovering that the love you're looking for may not be waiting at the end of a date. It may have been there all along. In the end, this isn't really an album about boys. It's an album about self-love, the kind you find when you stop looking for someone else to complete the story and realize you've been the main character all along.
Focus track: “After All This Time”
“After All of This Time” is a warm, nostalgic love song about the surreal experience of reconnecting with a childhood sweetheart decades after they first knew each other. Set in Midwest summer rain, starlit nights, and hanging out on a dock, it feels like the plot of a Netflix rom-com... the kind of unexpected, magical reunion you almost can't believe is happening.
At its heart, the song is about the strange beauty of timing and the feeling of looking at someone you've known since childhood and suddenly seeing them all over again in a whole new light.
